Maniilaq Health Center will begin offering Pfizer booster vaccines at MHC, Public Health Nursing, and in vaccine clinics in Maniilaq service area villages. Eligible residents who have been vaccinated before March 31st can visit the Main Entrance to Hospital on Monday, September 27th through Friday, October 1st between 9am-6pm or PHN Monday, September 27th through Friday, October 1st from 8am-5pm, closing for lunch from 12pm-1pm.
Maniilaq staff will begin traveling on Monday, September 27th to hold booster vaccine clinics throughout the Maniilaq service area, schedule will be announced on Monday, September 27th.
Please bring your vaccine card with you and have it available when you register. If you are missing your vaccine card, MHC staff will have the ability to locate your information. Surgical masks are required for entry into the hospital and will be provided if needed.
The following groups are recommended for a booster shot of the Pfizer vaccine if their 2nd dose was received on or after April 1st (at least 6 months after their 2nd dose):
-people 65 years and older and residents in long-term care settings,
-people aged 50–64 years with underlying medical conditions,
-people aged 18–49 years with underlying medical conditions, based on their individual benefits and risks, and
-people aged 18-64 years who are at increased risk for COVID-19 exposure and transmission because of occupational or institutional setting, based on their individual benefits and risks. Examples include healthcare workers, emergency responders (firefighters, EMS), grocery store workers, day-care staff, teachers, etc.
If you are unable to stop by for your booster vaccine during those times please visit a future vaccine clinic at Maniilaq Health Center, Public Health Nursing, or in a village clinic.
